Camping Baciccia is easy to find just off the S1 – “The Aurelia” road. About 50 miles to the west of Genoa, close to Ceriale/Cerial, the site is a good transit top when travelling between France and Italy. However, the on site facilities are also tempting for those looking for a longer stay. Camping Baciccia also has its own beach.

Camping Baciccia large pitch

Camping Baciccia but straddling two pitches

We did not have a forward booking at the site, and were in fact planning to stay somewhere else. On reflection, I am glad we pitched up at Camping Baciccia. On arrival, I pulled straight onto a pitch. The backend was still overhanging on to the access point for the adjacent pitch – I was not sure this would be acceptable. I spoke in Italian to the owners – always a good starting point. Straddling two pitches was not a problem as the site was not fully booked. We were both impressed by the pleasant manner of all staff we met.

All the mod cons at Camping Baciccia.

Onsite facilities include the usual chemical disposal point, laundry, pot wash and toilet/shower block. The amenity building at the site was exceptionally clean and also noteworthy of a mention, the generous sized shower cubicles. A decent sized swimming pool was open and the area surrounding the pool had sun loungers available for use. A further roof top sunbathing area was available. There is also an onsite pizzeria, which at the time of our visit, was offering pizzas from as little as five euro. The town centre is not far away and there is a supermarket within easy reach.

Given the easy access from the S1 along with excellent facilities and friendly staff,  then Camping Baciccia is definitely on the list of sites to visit again. However, few pitches are fairly close to the road, so you may wish to bear this in mind when pitching.
