A mile or so from the A1 motorway, Camping Internazionale Firenze (Firenze is the Italian for “Florence”), is a good base for exploring the sights of this world-famous Renaissance city. Furthermore, you can take the bus to other nearby cities such as Siena. The bus stop is adjacent to the campsite.

The city centre is within easy reach of Camping Inernazionale Firenze

Camping Internazionale Firenze is unusual in that the reception area is at “street level”, but access to pitches is by a fairly steep access road. Pitches vary in size and are fairly flat. Most motorhomes are easy to “level” without the aid of ramps or chocks. The duty receptionist offered us a choice of any available pitch and directed us to the larger pitches. However, with torrential rain forecast, we pitched in the coach parking area instead. That said, we still had electric hook up and so were no worse off for being in the coach park, other than being a bit closer to the motorway with the associated traffic noise. The majority of pitches at Camping Internazionale, Firenze are quiet and free from noise.

Whilst the facilities are good, one thing is exceptional – the staff. We we provided with a city map, a public transport map, directions to the bus stop and also were able to purchase bus tickets at reception. We were also given a discount voucher for use at a selection of campsites in Italy. ***Read our review of Camping Colleverde Siena – the discount voucher makes an appearance!***
