This stay at the Camping and Caravanning Club Drayton Manor was unplanned and despite having no booking in place and arriving at 830 pm, I received a very friendly welcome with a “nothing is too much bother” approach. Access to the site is through the main entrance to the Drayton Manor theme park, and once inside the “grounds”, the Camping and Caravanning Club Drayton Manor site is clearly sign posted.

Camping and Caravanning Club Drayton Manor

Easy to access motorhome service point at the Camping and Caravanning Club Drayton Manor

A motorhome service point is located by the entrance to the site – this is easy to access and offers fresh and grey facilities. The access road between the hard stand pitches is wide, ensuring easy manoeuvring for the driver!

Camping and Caravanning Club Drayton Manor offers large pitches

All 29 feet of the Kon-tiki sat comfortably on the pitch, with an American RV adjacent.

Other facilities on this pretty site include:

  • Heated amenity block with plenty of showers and loos
  • Pot wash
  • Laundry
  • Chemical disposal point
  • Hardstands or grass with electric hook up
  • Grass pitches without hook up
  • WiFi (charge payable) – appeared to be good coverage
  • Rally area
  • Sweets/ice creams/basic groceries and gas available on site
  • Good sized kids play area

The real attraction in the area is of course Drayton Manor theme park, but the site is not far away from Birmingham and it’s attractions such as Cadbury World, the Arena and the NEC.

Overnight conditions were near silent, resulting in a very sound sleep!

Although adjacent to the theme park, the Camping and Caravanning Club Drayton Manor has a rural feel to it, due in part to extremely well tended grounds and many mature trees around some of the perimeter.

The very pleasant manner and cheerfulness of the on site staff is noteworthy of a mention.

The opening dates and pricing can be found here.
