Another campsite along our route to Lake Garda avoiding tolls is Camping Neudahner Weiher. It’s just a few miles from the main B10 road that connects the A65 to the A8, so very easy to reach. We did not have an advance booking and although the site was very busy, the owner found us a space.

On site facilities are just as you would expect for a site of this size and type and include the following

  • Heated shower/toilet block
  • Pot wash area
  • All grass pitches with or without electric hook up
  • Chemical disposal point
  • Set amongst the trees and forest, built around Lake Neudahn
  • Mix of seasonal and touring pitches
  • Bar/restaurant
  • Site owner – very friendly and welcoming, good English spoken

A few minutes walk from the site entrance, the Moosbachtal railway station, offering a few trains per day to local towns. This area is very popular with cyclists and walkers, possibly due to the rural location. Being rural, and surrounded by trees, the site is peaceful at night. Consequently, we slept like logs!

It is possible to pre order bread rolls for delivery the following morning. The white, crispy rolls are delicious.

Camping Neudahner Weiher – no credit cards

When booking in, it is necessary to pay a ten euro deposit for key. The key unlocks the main door to the amenity block and also a gate, along the site boundary. From here, you can take a stroll to the Neudahn Castle. The key deposit is of course returned upon checkout.

Camping Neudahner Weiher accepts payment only by cash – so bear this in mind when arriving. The site has a website, available by clicking here
