Camping im Park, Glorenza, Italian sud Tyrol

Camping im Park close to the town of Glorenza in Italy could be easily missed. Firstly the site appears to have several names such as Camping Glorenza and Camping Glurns. Secondly, being within the Italian sud Tyrol, all signs are in German as well as Italian!

Camping Glorenza

Pitches of all shapes and sizes

Camping im Park offers all grass pitches with or without electric and appears to be open all year round. Whilst we consider this a fairly basic site, it is not lacking in facilities:

Camping Glurns Review

Lovely views and scenery surround Camping Glurns

Noteworthy of a mention, access to the site is via this archway!

Camping Glurns

Access to the town and site is via this archway

On approach to Glorenza – translates as Glurns in German – follow the is an ideal overnight transit stop but is also great for a longer stay. Cyclists will enjoy the array of cycle routes in the area.

Camping im Park – what’s around the corner?

The town of Glorenza is very pretty indeed. There are various bars and a small supermarket. The town is just a few minutes walk from Camping im Park. The town website, containing details of the campsite is available by clicking here.

Glorenza features walls around the perimieter

Glorenza certainly has some history to offer. The town is walled – at least one of the entrances still has huge gates in place. We enjoyed a visit to the local market on the Saturday. From Glorenza, the Italian Dolomites and the duty free town of Samnaun (Switzerland) and Livigno (Italy) are within fairly easy reach. A visit to either of these towns may reward you well with low priced diesel!
