Camping San Benedetto is located along the shores of Lake Garda, about two miles from the centre of Peschiera del Garda. The site offers direct access to the lake, complete with a boat slipway. In addition to the touring pitches, there are static caravans available for rent.

A word of caution – on arrival, the receptionist declined the ACSI card, stating that due to the length of the motorhome, we would need two pitches! I disagreed, and suggested we pitched first, and reported back later. Sure enough, we were on a single pitch with ease – bear this is mind when booking in. In respect of sizeable pitches, a reasonable guess would be a quarter of pitches could accommodate a tag axle motorhome, or similar.

For tourers, Camping San Benedetto offers the following on site facilities

  • Some pitches with lake view
  • All grass pitches, with electric hook up, six amps
  • Laundry
  • Pot wash
  • Various WC/shower blocks – generous sized shower area, not too unlike a wet room
  • Motorhome service point
  • Swimming pools
  • Sport area
  • Entertainment/”theatre” area
  • Bar/restaurant

Camping San Benedetto – a new toilet/shower block?

There are plenty of fresh water points around the site, probably something in the region of one per every four touring pitches. Some pitches are shady, whilst others are in full sun. The site is sloping however, so chocks/levelling ramps maybe required.

Mixture of shaded and sunny pitches

During our stay, a couple of coaches arrived, carrying rather noisy, albeit well-mannered German students. Factor this in with the entertainment program etc,  this may not be the site for you if you want a quiet life. We were staying only for a night as a semi transit stop, and would be unlikely to stay here for a longer holiday, due to the noise levels. For peace and quiet, stay next door but one at Camping Cappuccini. Finally, Camping San Benedetto has a website, here.

***After a change of pitch to a quieter spot, we remained at Camping San Benedetto for 23 nights!***
