After a good day driving, we were in need of a nightstop. Bearing in mind the fairly late arrival and probable early start, facilities on site were not important. It is just as well, given that at the Lago della Muta camperstop there are no facilities what so ever!

This is effectively a parking area adjacent to “Camping zum Zee” and a pizzeria. It does offer easy access to and from the SS40, decent walking and cycling around the lake, some lovely scenery and also the pizza restaurant.

The advertised rate is 10.00 euro per night, but upon arrival, there was no one around to pay. I was able to make contact on the following morning, but the owner said “it’s ok”. We left without charge.

The restaurant/pizzeria is also the reception/check-in desk for the sosta and the campsite.

Lago della Muta camperstop – camp site adjacent

If this most basic of stop overs is not your thing, there is a campsite adjacent – managed by the pizza restuarant offering full facilities. Click here for the campsite web pages.

If you are a fan of camperstops rather than all singing, all dancing campsites, then Motorhome Voyager recommends purchasing a copy of the Camper Stop Europe book – click here for our review.
