After a good day driving, we were in need of a nightstop. Bearing in mind the fairly late arrival and probable early start, facilities on site were not important. It is just as well, given that at the Lago della Muta camperstop there are no facilities what so ever!

This is effectively a parking area adjacent to “Camping zum Zee” and a pizzeria. It does offer easy access to and from the SS40, decent walking and cycling around the lake, some lovely scenery and also the pizza restaurant.

The advertised rate is 10.00 euro per night, but upon arrival, there was no one around to pay. I was able to make contact on the following morning, but the owner said “it’s ok”. We left without charge.
