Rapolano Terme is a small town in Tuscany, Italy, around 25 miles south of Siena. Famous for its thermal spring waters, the town is home to the “Area camper Rapolano Terme” with around one hundred hard stand motorhome plots. Within the town, you will find a supermarket, bakery, a couple of bars and restaurants and a few other small shops. There is also a rail station with connections to Siena.
Facilities at the area camper Rapolano Terme
- Motorhome service point with fresh and grey water
- Plenty of fresh water points dotted around
- Chemical disposal point
- 2 x WC and showers (in total!)
- Washing machine and tumble dryer
- Pizzeria/bar at certain times of the year
Now of course, the raison d’etre for being here is quite possibly a visit to one of the two spas – known as “terme” in Italian. Adjacent to the site is Terme Antica Querciolaia. A couple of miles away – it is “walkable”, you will find Terme San Giovanni. The two are very different. Terme Antica Querciolaia is more convenient as it is adjacent to the sosta. It is also the least expensive of the two. However, Terme San Giovanni whilst more expensive, does come with a more “up market feel”. It is also possible to night stop with a motorhome at the latter. The camper stop area at Rapolano has a “sister” in nearby Chianciano Terme offering the same value for money and again, easy access to a spa. The word “terme” in Italian literally means spa – so you can be sure of an enjoyable and relaxing break.
For those looking for a camper stop in Florence, will not be disappointed! However, it is “no frills!”
