The Rhine Falls (Rhein Falls) are the largest water falls in Europe, dropping about 23 metres and stretching 150 metres across. There are various boat trips available and you can also access viewing platforms. However, the steps to the viewing platforms are very steep and narrow.

If you park on the north banks of the Rhine Falls, there is a parking charge to pay, but there is no admission to see the falls and walk along the river bank. However, if you park at the south side, parking is free. You’ve guessed it though, you have to pay to view the falls! In order to really enjoy the experience it is worth taking one of the boat trips. There are various durations and prices available. Typical of Switzerland, the boarding process is very well organised!
