( votes)A mid week arrival at the Camping and Caravanning Club Salisbury saw the site enjoying some late autumn sunshine. A good number of campers were on site despite being towards the end of the season.
The site is set in a slightly elevated location and offers good views over the surrounding area. Many staying at the Camping and Caravanning Club Salisbury will no doubt visit Salisbury with it’s magnificent 13th Century cathedral.
Salisbury Cathedral is a pleasant walk from the site.
The city centre is easy to access. There is a bus from close to the site entrance or a pleasant, partial river-side walk. The river-wide walk will also take you past a large Waitrose supermarket, so ideal for a grocery top up or a coffee!
A pleasant and mostly flat walk into the city centre is partially along the riverbank
Salisbury city centre is a place where old meets new – this Italian restaurant is a perfect example.

Back to the site though, and the facilities are plentiful.

Some of the pitches slope slightly, so motorhomes in particular may require ramps. Note, slightly! Your caravan nose will not be pointing at the moon!
Camping and Caravanning Club Salisbury – close to Stonehenge
Stonehenge is easily reached from the Camping and Caravanning Club Salisbury
On departure day, I asked the site staff about motorhome parking at Stonehenge. I was given lots of information and also details of where to go to see the stones for a “photo shoot” without having to pay for “full access” to the site, museum and shop etc.
