Motorhome parking in Obernai is straight forward enough. There are a couple of options available to visitors. Firstly there is the excellent value for money Camping Municipal offering value for money camping. For parking only, there is a large area at Place des Ramparts, close to the town centre. The latter is well sign posted from the motorway. Note –  DO NOT go through the town with your motorhome or caravan – access is very tight!

We parked at Place  des Ramparts for a while and noted another couple of motorhomes. One of these looked to be staying put, given the owner had a satellite dish up and a generator running. There are public toilets available and also an outdoor fresh water tap – but the latter appears to be disconnected for winter. There is n’t a grey facility, but at the end of the day, this is a parking area rather than an aire.

The beautiful town centre is a few moments stroll from the parking area. Obernai offers visitors a good selection of local shops and eateries. The town is very busy in summer, but remarkable quiet in winter, as you can see!

At certain times of the year, a fair takes place and at Christmas time, the markets run for a month or so.
