There are many campsites close to Lake Trasimeno but “official” motorhome parking area seem to be like hens teeth. We believe there are a few sostas around the lake but this Lake Trasimeno camperstop is in a good location with views of the lake, a pizzeria adjacent and some pleasant walks/cycling routes nearby. Lake Trasimeno is the fourth largest of the Italian Lakes and despite its size, it is much quieter than the northern Lakes such as Garda and Iseo. This website offers more information about Trasimeno and the Umbria region.

The barriers are currently in the up position and there is no ticket machine.

“Our” Lake Trasimeno camperstop is at the small town of San Feliciano. From here, it is possible to take a regular ferry to other towns along the lake. Some guide books and online websites refer to this camperstop as being in the town of Magione, but this is not this case. There are a few shops and bars in the village centre whilst larger supermarkets are a drive or a goog cycle ride away.

The motorhome service point has a chemical disposal point and grey water dump. Curiously, there is no provision for fresh water! There are a total of twenty four hook up point and these offer around six amps.

The camper service point at Lake Trasimeno camperstop does not have a fresh water point!

Lake Trasimeno camperstop – the price

Local signage suggests a price of ten euro for an overnight stop. However, the entry and exit barriers are (at the time of writing), in the raised position.

This sign shows the tariff, although….

The ticket machine has been removed. Consequently, we believe this is now a free camperstop.

This camperstop like all the others we use, may be viewed on our home page – “site map” – click here.
