Do you find that, more so when on the move, the draft from Heki roof lights can be, well rather annoying? If so, read on! From our research, we soon learned that there are two specifications for roof lights, “without forced ventilation” and “with forced ventilation”. Further research suggested that those with forced ventilation tend to be fitted to motorhome whilst the other variant is fitted to caravans. So what is the difference between the two? It’s quite simple. The model without forced ventilation has a rubber draft excluder fitted and is currently £10 more expensive that the model with forced ventilation. You’ve probably guessed that the model with forced roof ventilation does not have a draft excluder!
Fortunately, it is not necessary to change the whole rooflight. As you can see from the photographs, simply purchase the draft excluder and fit it. Result – far less cold wind entering the van and also somewhat quieter on the move.
Details of both variants of the roof light – just in case you think we have gone bonkers – are available on the Dometic website.
