The 2012 model Kontiki did not come with a motorhome ladder fitted a standard. However, I was soon “missing” this accessory. It was previously fitted as standard to the other motorhomes I have owned. I never thought to order this as a factory fit option when placing the order for the van. Unfortunately, on our trip to Rome in November, it was clear that this was a mistake. As a result, we ordered the 2013 and 2015 Kon-tikis with the optional ladder fitted.

The photograph below shows our 2015 Kon-tiki with the factory fitted motorhome ladder.

Primarily, the ladder is used to gain access to the roof, so this makes the daunting task of cleaning the roof a lot easier but also allows access to the satellite dish and for those wishing to carry items on the roof, this task too is facilitated.

Motorhome ladder – other uses.

We do have one other use for our ladder when away on tour though…….laundry! Either a line fastened from the ladder to a nearby tree or, our folding clothes airer clipped over the ladder!
