A rather strange fault popped up on the Alde 3010 boiler’s control panel – see the photograph – “Alde 3rd party panel C. fail”. A glance through the manuals for guidance revealed no clues, nor did a trawl of the internet.

However, a quick email was sent and later a reply. The “Alde 3rd party panel C. fail” relates to a problem with an accessory connected to the Alde control panel. The Kontiki has two accessories in place – one is the Alde load monitor and the other is the battery back up device for the clock and timer.

By looking at the accessories menu on the Alde’s control panel, I was able to “un-tick” each accessory in turn, until the fault cleared. The fault turned out to be something to do with the battery back up, not sure what, but maybe the batteries are flat!

It’s always worth a call to Alde for advice too – very helpful people.
