Camping de L’Ill Mulhouse, France

The Camping de L’Ill Mulhouse is  about one mile from the centre of Mulhouse. Consequently,  the city centre is accessible quite easily on foot. Despite it’s near city centre location, the Camping de L’Ill Mulhouse is set among matures trees and is close to the riverbank. We were pleasantly surprised by the peace and quiet, given the location.

On arrival we encountered a barrier in the down position, but once we had been to the reception area and booked in, we were able to get pitched up. A choice of pitches was offered – basically any that were free. The receptionist suggested a few pitch numbers to us as these were formed of hand standing. We pitched on grass and despite heavy rain earlier in the day, the ground at Camping de L’Ill Mulhouse was very firm. The pitch was both long and wide and offered electric hook up with a ten amp connection.

On site facilities at Camping de L’Ill Mulhouse

Typical of many modern sites, Camping de L’Ill Mulhouse offers a pot washing facility, showers, toilets, chemical disposal point and laundry facilities. The showers were very clean and offered hot water at a decent pressure. Rubbish bins were provided and recycling of glass, plastic and tin cans. A motorhome service point is also available.

An on site, heated open air swimming pool sounded very appealing but this was closed during our visit due to very heavy rain earlier in the day. During our visit, it was possible to pre order bread rolls, croissants and the like from reception – these were delivered the following morning. WiFi is available and costs one euro per hour. However, we both felt this was a tad pricey.

Given that Camping de L’Ill Mulhouse is located within minutes of the A36 motorway, the site  offers visitors an ideal setting for both longer stays and transit stops such as ours.
