The Camping and Caravanning Club Cambridge was basking in autumn sunshine during our stay, and despite being somewhat out of season, the site was very busy. However, it is easy to see why! Access to the site is via a narrow lane, with passing places. The Camping and Caravanning Club Cambridge is set back from the road and is partially surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. The “roads” within the site are of a tarmac style, whilst the hard standing pitches are gravel.

The Kon-tiki fitted easily onto a hard stand pitch, and most, if not all hard stands, appeared to be the same generous size. Worth mentioning, the easy access to the pitches is easy. These pitches were constructed with an extra corner added.  As you can see on the photo’ below, this makes reversing on to a pitch a great deal easier.

  • Recently refurbished amenity block (heated)
  • Chemical disposal point
  • Motorhome service point
  • Laundry and pot wash
  • Grass or hard stand pitches
  • WiFi (fee applies)
  • Childrens’ play area

The chemical disposal point sets standards that other sites should follow – hot and cold water, with soap, for hand washing after completing the deed!

Cambridge city centre is easily access via the close-by park and ride service. The city centre is also within easy walking distance.

Neat tarmac roads between pitches

The location of this CCC site within the heart of Cambridgeshire sees many attractions within easy reach. Just a few minutes drive from junction 11 of the M11, this site is a good transit stop for those travelling along the north/south corridor. Although close to a city and a motorway, the site enjoys near silent conditions at night and is definitely on the “must return” list for the 2016 season. More details of the site including prices are available here.
