( votes)Since our last night stop at Dunkerque ferry terminal, a few things have changed. The location of the parking area has moved, so follow the signs for ticket sales. The “parking” area is basically a car park, set on tarmac surface, so no problem for all rear round stop overs.

Within the booking office area – newly opened – not the previous ticket office – you will find newly fitted toilets and wash basins. However, the showers of the old set up are no more.
This is what it says on the tin – a ferry terminal. We stayed the night and were on our way the following morning. There are no waste or fresh water facilities. If you prefer an aire, the closest one is likely to be that at Gravelines. Our review of the Gravelines aire is available here. The ferry services operated from Dunkirk to Dover are provided by DFDS Seaways.
Not sure how long the terminal will tolerate what we saw while waiting at Dunkirk. On our outward stopover everything was fine, as you said it is a ferry terminal. We pulled in to wait for our return and saw a tent had been erected in a parking space a person sleeping in a parking space next to his car. Then a couple turned up in a campervan and lit a BBQ in a parking space. We saw several people urinating in the car park albeit to the grassed area and many people allowing their dogs to foul in this area without clearing up the mess. It is facility that offers great benefits to many. Why do some individuals have no respect for anything or anyone.
I would have no issue with someone in a small tent, but I would have offered a mouth full of choice language to the others!
